Mallard Cottage Pop-Up Dinner with Special Guest Chef Todd Perrin

Chef Todd Perrin of Mallard Cottage will be taking over the kitchen at Lion & Bright Cafe Bar for one night only! Join us on June 30, 2015 at 7:00 pm for a fabulous family style meal, where Chef Todd Perrin will be preparing a whole pig, 7 ways served alongside fresh, seasonal dishes made entirely from local produce. Finish the meal off with homemade rhubarb pie and vanilla ice cream.

We are also very excited to have Jeremy White of Big Spruce Brewing on-site serving up an array of organic, craft beer. All eight of our taps will feature Big Spruce beers for the evening, and you can choose to upgrade your ticket to include three beers, paired with your meal for $20.00.

"Canadian foodies know Todd Perrin as the burly, entertaining, larger than life Newfoundlander who made it to the top 8 in The Food Network’s hit series Top Chef Canada 2011.  Todd graduated from The Culinary Institute of Canada at Holland College in PEI and went on to work at The Lodge at Kananaskis in Alberta and then at a private hotel near Zurich, Switzerland. After taking some time off from the industry to be a stay at home Dad he returned to the food and hospitality business in 2008 with The Chef’s Inn, a B&B in downtown St. John’s, Newfoundland. There he sources the freshest local ingredients from his own backyard, neighbors’ farms and his root cellar, practicing farm-to-table whenever possible.

Todd’s latest restaurant project is Mallard Cottage, in Quidi Vidi Village, St. John’s.  The painstakingly restored 18th century cottage opened as a restaurant in November 2013 after much anticipation. Mallard Cottage has been recognized by several publications since opening including Enroute Magazine - #5 on it's list of Top Ten Best New Restaurants in Canada 2014, Canada's 100 Best - #38 on the Top 100 Restaurants in Canada list 2015, and Vacay.ca Top 50 Restaurants in Canada 2014."
