Capella Regalis Men & Boys Choir celebrates its sixth annual To Bethlehem With Kings series with a tour of performances in Windsor, Lunenburg, and Halifax. A traditional and heart-warming evening of beautiful carols for Christmas, ancient and modern, performed by a choir of men and boys in the European tradition. The concert will include opportunities for audience participation on the hymns, and also features Paul Halley on pipe organ and the Maritime Brass Quintet.
Founded in 2010, Capella Regalis Men and Boys Choir is one of only a handful of liturgical men and boys choirs singing in Canada today. The choir comprises fourteen boys (ages 6 – 13) and fourteen men (including many graduates of the treble section). The choir sings Choral Evensong every Tuesday of the academic term at 5:00 p.m. at the Cathedral Church of All Saints in Halifax. The choir also performs concerts and tours throughout Nova Scotia and beyond in a busy September – June season. In 2014, the choir released its debut CD, My Eyes for Beauty Pine. Capella Regalis is a registered non-profit society and an educational outreach programme of Musique Royale, a music presenting charity. For more information, visit www.capellaregalis.com.
